been away too long

just thought i'd leave a note, while i was passing by.. :) life's been good. even a bit boring :D

I haven't been sightseeing too much. In fact, i have not even covered the so-called Seattle attractions, unless you consider the Locks cruise i went on with my team at work. That was good fun. The tour guide pointed out to us the floating house of Sleepless in Seattle (cute Hindi style movie :D - yeah, Meg Ryan looks pretty. and i LOVE Tom Hanks.) of course!

Last weekend we went for the Blue angels Air show. I haven't seen any air shows back in b'lore. People who have, tell me that the one in India is way more enthralling. The show on Saturday also included an air show from Boeing. The most catchy one was a solo show sponsored by Oracle. This was a red plane and the pilot was doing swirls and falls and kept going about it so effortlessly, it seemed. (We were watching the show from beside the water(Lake Washington). This pilot was even put on air ( :D ), as in, spoke to the audience while he was doing his manoeuvers. That was a lovely personal touch. It was pretty noisy, of course, but he kept talking, and making funny noises as he did his falls and swirls. The audience just loved him. :D The plane was custom-built for this guy to do his air tactics. Think his name is Shaun.

There was a festive Chevrolet fair set up there with a stage for live performances in between the air shows and hydroplane races. Info There were fireworks at night, which we didn't stay to watch. Shuttles ran from couple of Park n Rides(nice concept here - where folks can go park their cars and take the bus (especially if they know the final destination won't have parking space for all. :D )) to the venue.

For the long weekend in July, few of us dudes and dudettes went to Grand Canyon and Las Vegas. And no, I didn't gamble. :D Just went around looking at the crazy cute ppl who did. :D And the great hotels (casinos). :D Saw a couple of shows - AWESOME stuff.(tickets expensive, but totally worth it) Le Reve by Franco Dragone. Link . Yeah, ppl in the front rows were given towels, as the show is mainly water acrobatics. The Wynn resort where the show was held was real classy. :) We also went to see the Foliet Bergere. (not sure about the spelling). One of the oldest shows at Vegas. Again, great stuff.

Grand Canyon demands a second visit, with more adventure involved. We just went out to the view points this time, saw the sun rise, took loads of snaps, got tanned, and came back to Vegas tired. :D

Have you listened to "Two beds n a coffee machine"? If not, please do. An old favourite from college days. (yep, i feel old already.)

Music: another ditch in the road.. you keep moving..

Seattle.. here i am..

blogging from a whole new continent.. :) i hadn't been to another till now. So, landed in Seattle on 18th Feb, 8 pm, Seattle time. Stopped in between at Malaysia,Taiwan and LA. Didn't go out of the airport at any of these places. Just walked around in awe a bit. Was really tired too.

Am staying at Bellevue here. Travel to office with some colleagues daily. There's no sun out here! seems pretty cold and moist with a slight drizzle most of the time. They tell me tis like that most of the year. i'm hoping i can see some snow soon. :) always wanted to... :)

Haven't gone out much as yet, just a couple of malls and stores. And just walkin' about mostly. Am liking the place except when i can't handle the cold.

We travel to office(Bellevue to Seattle) over one of the floating bridges. Really famous stuff.. :D. Today, i noticed something weird. the part of lake on one side of the bridge was turbulent, while the other side was as calm as ever! my co-travellers didn't seem to take note of it. so i asked them, and they tell me that's a mystery i need to solve on my own. seems they've all noticed it and don't know the answer, and now they seem to ignore it.. weird.. seems in the evening, the side that was calm in the morning becomes turbulent, and the other side is calm. haven't noticed that yet, as i'd be sleepy in the evening, when we get out.

Pretty excited about working with the client-side people. Their accents, their way of talking, gestures, i find all that pretty interesting.

Got a whole lot of books to read when i'm here, from home. :D. Started with Orson Scott Card's Xenocide yesterday. Have read Ender's game and Ender's shadow already. Wanted to read Speaker for the dead (by the same author) before i started with it, but couldn't get hold of that one. And been watching Indian movies too. The girls with whom i was staying till yesterday, keep renting videos of indian movies. So i watched Zinda, Family and 15 Park Avenue. Haven't seen the end of 15 Park Avenue yet. i liked it so far.:) i watched Parineeta on the flight and loved it! :) and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone(for the second or third time) too. i just loved the music from Parineeta. Amazing. And beautiful direction, i think. The new face for the role was an absolute hit!

Hope to continue blogging with any exciting updates, on this side of the planet. :D

Three 'jam's, a movie, a performance and some fun.. ;)

Been having major fun weekends lately. :)

Watched bunty aur babli :) liked it sorta. :D

Priyank,(iVolunteer friend),Changu,Kannan, [info]smilebringer and i had a lovely jamming session at Changu's place, two weeks ago. We did some playin around with the garage band thingie on [info]smilebringer's new powerbook. That thing is SOOO WAHHOOWW! we recorded few of our songs. Sounded real good. :)

I sang "ZOMBIE" with the band, for a programme at office. Felt good. My first time- singing with a band and stuff. And i loved it. Made couple of mistakes, but the crowd seemed to have been enjoying themselves so much. Ppl tell me they didn't notice the mistakes, or they're just being nice. :D Was FUN! :)

Weekend before last, few of us volunteers at iVolunteer had some fun jamming at Anna's place. She's the coordinator sorta, for iVolunteer. More recording more fun.. We jammed at her place, for like 4 hours. :D

We ppl(volunteers) went to a day care centre of sorts, for construction workers' children, last Saturday. I pulled my brother along and called a number of my colleagues to come too. We decorated the place a bit, conducted some activities(indoor,outdoor,arts/crafts) for the children. Some of us older kids couldn't keep hands off the balloons and toys too. :D We danced a LOT, sang a LOT, and messed up the place a LOT, with paints, glue, newspapers, etc. (Yeah, we did clean it up later. :)) There were demos of the races by volunteers, which everyone enjoyed. :) The kids seemed real happy at the end of the day..And their non-stop "thank you, miss" and "bbbyyyeeee"'s.. Twas a fun day for all of us.. :) The event was mainly to generate interest so that the children come to the centre regularly and to get more children to attend classes there. Am really glad i got to attend it. :)

Time's been moving REAL fast lately. or is it just me!

P.S. Been trying out chords for some hymns on the guitar too. :)

back, and last weekend! (hey you, loooong time, eh?)

So, i'm back.(not been far, lurkin in 'em shadows..) hope i can update this blog regularly from now. :D

Me been practising guitar after a long time. Took it to an old chap who earns his living out of selling/fixing musical instruments- place suggested to me by a colleague. This old chap tuned it few weeks ago, and i've sorta stuck to practice, almost daily. Small-scale event coming up at office on monday. Might be singing. So me practising singing too(yeah, braying sometimes). And my brother bears all this in silence, at home. :D (He's a paavam kutty. :) (oh wait, i moved in with my brother recently. ) ) Me getting a lot of time to myself, at the new place. Though the fact really registered with me when Meera kutty said so :) .
Annnd yeah, some of us had a nice time sometime back, after i got changu's guitar fixed too. Raj has blogged about it here,(i read it and was taken by surprise at the wholly different perspective.)

In other news, me being initiated to science fiction! :D I read Ender's shadow by Orson Scott Card. Enjoyed it, big time. :)( Loooong time since i read a book from the beginning till the last page. Been using them for pillows or sedatives for few years now. :D ) I had read the short story version of Ender's game ,after i read about it at Vanchi's blog.

Life's been normal, even good, otherwise. Last weekend, i attended an iVolunteer workshop. Ct[info]smilebringer and Alexy are already active members. The workshop was good, felt really inspired by the sessions, and the enthusiasm shown by the attendees.

After the workshop, and meetings, someone mentioned about World Music Day being celebrated at Alliance Francais. Classical music, rock, fusion, etc would be performed, dances, etc. So all of us agreed to attend the thing as the entry was free too :) We all went to Crossword first as we had more than 2 hrs to kill. Also watched a play being held there, by some students. :) Then we were on our way to Alliance Francais and reached the place an hour ahead, as someone raised a false alarm about not getting seats if we reached just in time. So we spent one hour wondering if there is indeed gonna be anything, as not many people were turning up. Soon enough, lots of ppl started pouring in and the event started off on one stage with instrumentals. A guitar chap and drummer playing some popular hindi songs at first. Next, there was a huge battalion on stage with all sorts of instruments. (Fusion,as they call it.) Yeah, the guitar definitely seemed like a fusion of guitar, sitar or whatever. It looked like a guitar, but the owner(huge chap :D ) placed it such that it was lying horizontally on his lap, and it produced a really wonderful sound, something like the sitar(i think),when plucked. Then, there was tabla, western rock instruments(bass, lead, drums, keyboard) and another rhythm thing(dunno the name) and last but not least,a saxophone :). Loved their performance, though i couldn't recognise all of what they played- classical stuff.

We then went and checked out a second stage, where some light western music was playing.Listened to a band of boys(yeah, they seemed really young) performing "Love will keep us alive" by Eagles. Was pretty decent.

And this is the best part. We moved onto the dance stage. Bharatnatyam, african tribal dance(by a bunch of kids), salsa n jive, and ballet. WOOOWWWW to all of them. :) I had to leave after that. But sure had an awesome, fun-filled evening. :)

Watched Batman begins with the gang on Sunday. Liked it mostly, though i'm not a fan of comics.

Notes:

1) Ask someone if batman gets a sore throat sometimes.
2) Christian Bale's a hunk.
3) Tis always a pleasure welcoming Morgan Freeman on screen.
4) First half of the movie was good, though some of my friends didn't think so.
5) Didn't like the choice of heroine. She looked too foolish for her part. But i guess that's the trend. Choose foolish-looking females as heroines to super-heroes(spiderman,batman..)

Guess i shouldn't overdo this.As i said, i'm no comic freak.:)

My team at office is off to mysore tomorrow, for a team building exercise. Two-day event. They're all pretty excited. Wanted to go myself, but decided against it as my brother's got his exams starting on monday. *sigh*

Didn't mean to post such a long account of recent happenings. But guess it's okay since i hadn't blogged in a while.

One last thing: Keyboardist in my office band gave me lots of hymns to listen to. Didn't have any at office till now. Listening to them a lot these days. Even took prints of guitar chords for one of them - Heart of Worship, brought to my notice by an iVolunteer pal. Life slows down when i listen to 'em hymns, and i feel oh-so-calm. :) . Good for the soul.

Lyrics for one i really liked. Couldn't find the guitar chords for this one though. Do help me out if you do.

I Dance

When I'm alone with You Lord
My troubles seem to disappear
And the peace that comforts me
Always comes when You are near
And Your love's too much for my heart to contain
Joy too much that my feet won't refrain

So I dance like the rain on the roof
Tell my soul that my spirit's on the loose
Don't know if anyone will understand
Feels like an angel's got a hold of my hand
So I dance
I dance I dance I dance

When I think about the ways
That You have blessed my life
I sing a song of praise and thankful tears fill my eyes
'Cause Your love's too much for my heart to contain
Joy too much that my feet won't refrain

back.. and wishing you enough..

been really long since i posted anything, i know. and even now, i'm not here to post any recent happenings. will do that later. For now, i just want to plug something i got as a forward. Kinda too nice to forward it ,so i decided to post it here.

I Wish You Enough

- Raymond Sansonetti

At an airport I overheard a father and daughter in their last moments together. They had announced her plane's departure and standing near the door, he said to his daughter, "I love you, I wish you enough."

She said, "Daddy, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Daddy."

They kissed good-bye and she left.

He walked over toward the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking, "Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?"

"Yes, I have," I replied. Saying that brought back memories I had of expressing my love and appreciation for all my Dad had done for me. Recognizing that his days were limited, I took the time to tell him face to face how much he meant to me. So I knew what this man was experiencing.

"Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?" I asked.

"I am old and she lives much too far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is, her next trip back will be for my funeral, "he said.

"When you were saying good-bye I heard you say, 'I wish you enough.' May I ask what that means?"

He began to smile.

"That's a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone." He paused for a moment and looking up as if trying to remember it in detail, he smiled even more.

"When we said 'I wish you enough,' we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with enough good things to sustain them," he continued and then turning toward me he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory.

"I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright.

I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun more.

I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive.

I wish you enough pain so that the smallest joys in life appear much bigger.

I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.

I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.

I wish enough "Hello's" to get you through the final "Good-bye."

He then began to sob and walked away.

My friends and loved ones, I wish you ENOUGH!!!

They say, "It takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them."

Few updates to make here:
1) Me and couple of friends going to Hampi for the weekend. YAY! Finally! Yeah, all my friends laugh at me now when i make plans for a trip, coz it never works out. 2) My folks comin to blore next weekend. YAY again! My life's all exciting this month. Hope i don't have to drain my pockets too much. :D (There will be 13 ppl, including children coming over. :D )

Some nice stuff i've been reading at e2.
(Vanchi, please don't kill me for this. :D )

Spilling over into words, we run out of space too soon
Through this warm electricity I will give you bark branches and leaves curling upward into a safe sky
You are precious to me. Did you know that?

Okay, work beckons. Can't do that all day.

(Don't want to sound pessimistic. but me worried this blog is dying.)

music and cooking..

On music, me falling in love with Sadhana Sargam's voice in "Aao naa" from KHGN. I've always liked Udit Narayanan's voice.. Really lovely song. Been listening to it over and over for a few weeks now.
Been two weeks since i touched my guitar. will pick it up soon, hopefully.

Weekend before last, few of us met up to play Monopoly. :) I didn't know the game too well. But i enjoyed the negotiations and arguments between the rest of the players who did. :D . At some point or the other, i accepted some advice from these ppl, some good, some bad. But we stopped the game at a point where i was in the lead. Though it was tough for ppl to admit that( *hides*).

Gang of friends met up last weekend at the Euphoria show here at ITPL,Bangalore. Was major fun. Yelling our throats out and dancing(if jumping about to every tune can be called that. :) ) Chap( the vocalist, Dr Pallash) knows to keep his audience on their toes. His simple method was to be on his toes throughout. He wouldn't stop hopping from the beginning of the show, maybe more than 3 hours or so .Truly amazing how these ppl can sing without their voice wavering too. Keyboard guy was major fun to watch as well, as he wasn't doing much, but generally making faces. [info]smilebringer had to be persuaded (with some i-don't-know-you looks followed by pulling back with all our might)from going and getting that chap's autograph.

On cooking, let me state a major accomplishment. Me and my roomie made ulli theeyal yesterday. Came out *really* well. Major major success. :)

(In other news, me not got much work.)

ash wednesday

(Been away for a while. To be honest, was just getting into spectator mode at lj. Reading ppl's blogs, but not blogging. My first post for 2005 here.Year's been good to me so far. Hope it's been the same for all you folks on blog planet.)

Woke up late and missed the morning mass i had planned to go to. Went back to sleep really low. Woke up again and just smsed bro at St Johns to enquire about mass timings. Seems they have mass services there in the Hospital Chapel. Ray of hope. Scrambled out in twenty minutes and got there. Started crying on entering the place of worship. Heart felt really light and brimming at the same time.(Might seem funny, i know.)

Wearing the ash on my forehead today. Feeling happy somehow. Missed this day's service last year.

Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

(guitar's out of tune. Training myself on guitar-tuning by ear. Hope it works. Long time, no jam. Been singing though, by myself.)

Really excited about leaving for home. plan to take my guitar too. yep, i'm *crazy*. But come on, will be home for more than a week. Also, have bought some really nice looking Christmas decorations for the Christmas tree. :)

bad news :(

Can't play guitar these days. This thing which was supposed to hold the strings together broke into two. Don't get it? The thickest string can't be depressed now as it is away from the neck of the guitar. And there is no point as NOTHING sounds right. Hope it can be fixed. Have to take it to a doc. AFTER i find one.

Been no jamming for two weeks now.

Not feeling too good. Bad cough and cold.Been postponing seeing a doc.

A few of us at where i stay are thinking of moving out and getting an independent house or apartment for rent. Just thinking. Nothing finalised. Me kinda excited though, after checking out the ads for 2bhk's. When i came, i just had to pay the rent mostly. The place we're staying had almost everything else. We're thinking about it.. more responsibility.initial expenses,etc..me pretty excited..dunno..

at home :)

me been running around. sisters are going for music classes, it seems. Had to drop one off at her keyboard class in the morning. After that,we went to church. Cousins have come over too..Kids kept up the chatter for long in the evening. and asked me a number of mind boggling riddles..;) They're also practising for some contest at church tomorrow. Story-telling,singing or whatever. So i made them rehearse a bit. And also made kuku practise her keyboard. They also tell me they've been attending classes for carnatic vocals since two months now. AND have practised like twice in all that time. Well, i have given them STRICT instructions to practise daily from now.(YEAH, YOU wouldn't want ME for a big sis. ;) )

Have initiated kuku to Cranberries and Six pence none the richer. :)

think i should have brought the guitar with me.

Number of things i'm missing at home:

1) Fast net connection
2) A mouse that works
3) Picasa
4) Photos which i wanted to show ppl out here
5) Winamp 5
6) Yahoo 6
7) An OS which ain't Windows XP. (or even Windows XP which doesn't get on my nerves SO much..)
8) Guitar
....

(Man, am i really spoilt? or is it just me? )

Well, looks like it's basically withdrawal symptoms that show up when i come near my pc. As long as i stay away from it, things are pretty manageable, i guess..except for the guitar..

I THINK i start back day after tomorrow. Seems it's a hartal. God alone knows what's gonna happen.. Worried.

Sleepy now. Aborting number of downloads..*yawn* g'nite..

Country roads..take me home..

Dudes, me leavin for home this evening.. Seems there isn't too much work today. Our staying back for two days was not so critical for the project.. Atleast, that is the conclusion i've come to today. Many new requirements are coming up which will postpone the "go-live"(term for product going into production) of the project. Anyways, i atleast get two days off some other time..Longer Christmas hols for me..:)

Loud music at work now. :D not many ppl around..so it's kinda okay..

Wondering what to take home for my folks.. Can't think of anything.. It's been almost three months since i went..Went before the convocation last.

Happy diwali, everyone. (Will try to blog from home. :) )

working late after long..

Yeah, it isn't late night yet. Just 7-ish in the evening, which is office time for most software developers. But i have been evading the chance to stay back for a while now. Today I couldn't get away with it.

I just gave away my ticket to go home this evening. There were SO many people on the lookout for a ticket. Hope nothing turns up at work and i can atleast leave for home on friday.

Today is one of my roomies' b'day. Hope i can make it for the party.

Quote from Shakespeare i came across at e2

The devil can cite Scripture for his purpose.
An evil soul, producing holy witness,
Is like a villain with a smiling cheek,
A goodly apple rotten at the heart.
O, what a goodly outside falsehood hath!

--- William Shakespeare (1564?-1616?)

Updates

(Title to this post shows work's getting to me. Feels like i'm mailing my onsite co-ordinator). Well, friday was a pretty bad day as i got some not so exciting news. Not going home day after tomorrow as i had been planning for a while. (work. Project going live on next monday.)Wasted SO much sleep running around to get those tickets. Now, someone else can use it. *sigh* Looking on the brighter side, it means i get to have a longer Christmas vacation.

Three of my batchmates are getting married today. Best wishes and prayers..Really wanted to attend..work again..

In other news, me and guitar-friend jammed for long after a long time.(Got some time last weekend. But that was just for an hour.) Well, yesterday, it was more of tuning my guitar in the beginning.(I came to know i am practising with something not so in tune. :D ) Pitch's sorta high now after the tuning and we were thoroughly screaming on the terrace of where i live. I pulled her inside, when ppl in the nearby houses started to come out on their terraces. ;)(okay, she's gonna kill me now. Me just exaggerating..) And guess what, i got to play a song while she sang. Never thought that day would come, eh?? ;)(that's what she said..) Me practising a lot whenever i get time. As much as my fingers and the guitar and my roomies let me,that is. Not sure if i should start classes. But trying to continue practice for now..

Been listening to plenty of Cranberries and Sheryl Crow and Powerless by Nelly Furtado, thanx to guitar-friend. Me totally in love with a few Cranberries songs. *lovely*

Feeling pretty happy and contented..

For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

bad day..

Every day is a bad hair day for me. As in, my hair NEVER stays well. But today is turning out to be a pretty bad day. Didn't start too well. One of my usual blunders.I am SUCH a clumsy and careless person. And i don't have enough work to keep me busy.

Fingers hurting pretty bad coz of all the guitar practice.. and me still not making much progress.

No music this weekend and next, except for my own practice, maybe. Guitar friend will be away.

Check out..

I found it very useful to make people to listen to songs i want them to listen to. :D (think i'm going crazy.)

sleep over and Spanish movie..

Had a great weekend. Stayed over at my guitar friend's house. Another friend of mine,(who stays with guitar friend) was also present. We had a small reunion party of sorts. Was *really* nice. Followed by lots of music and kathifying. We jammed for around 6 hours. Slept at around 3 am.

And the next day, i went with guitar friend to a Spanish movie(Amores Perros or something..), supposed to have inspired Mani Ratnam's Yuva.(I really didn't want to go as i see too much Spanish at work. Me testing my application in Spanish locale nowadays.) The similarity is only in the story telling, not in the story itself. I found the movie very depressing .Too much blood and too many dogs..and Doggy blood and so on.. Though there were some funny bits. Towards the end, i just wanted it to get over as i developed a headache during the movie.
At the Sunday evening mass, i happened to sit next to this "uncle" who was singing seconds for every hymn. Was real good to listen to..

And after a good weekend, my week is pretty lousy. Am pretty sulky and morose in general. Last night, i was sulking coz i found it tough to tune the guitar. And finally when i did manage to barely tune it up, i started to sulk about having to cut my finger nails. It is like the first time in my life that i have grown them so long and am keeping them that way. (I usually bite them off.)

And this morning,at work, i am again sulking.. about the application not working fine..

Tomorrow is a holiday. Hope to practise guitar then..

Long time, no verse.

The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.

Exodus 14:14

guitar

Been having a lot of fun starting off on the guitar.. Another roomie of mine- who happens to have some sorta experience with the guitar(as in holding it, strumming it, playing notes, breaking strings, putting new ones)- and i take turns playing new chords and stuff..Played a lot on friday night and saturday morning.. Fingers were hurting later. Think that's normal.

Jammed a teeny weeny bit with my guitar friend on sunday. We decided we should make it a sunday feature.

And i do have to pay the phone bill. But this is still better than pre-paid, i guess.

Me kinda free at work,today..(Bad sentence?) Bro's back from home. Good news is, got home-made goodies..YEHH!!

Went to St Patrick's church here at Bangalore, yesterday after a long long time..Love the service there..Singing's lovely too. Reminds me of the services at churches in Kuwait.

Mood: lethargic
Music: if it makes you happy...

More music.. :)

Guess what, dudes. Been having a lot of music-packed weekends lately. And taking a lot of prints from office on fridays, in preparation. :)

Listening to some carnatic stuff now.

Went for colonial cousins concert here last Sunday. Hariharan is truly magical. Atleast his voice is. Remember my friend with the guitar? She and I danced a lot with the crowd that day. (AFTER we had an afternoon full of singing with the guitar. [info]smilebringer was singing too! ;) He wanted to take photos. But we had settled in a not so photographic place. And we went on singing, song after song, till it started to rain.. malhari as ppl would call it..:) okay, bad joke.)

spurt of good news - sorta got a guitar. (my roomie's giving hers to me. ;) ) COOOOOHHHL??!!
plans to learn, parallel to paranoia about leaving it half-way..*shivers* i have done that TOO many times. keyboard,singing,dance,painting.. the list is too long..SCARY..

been pretty busy at work.(in other news, i got a small raise and stuff. So,i just became un-broke today when my salary got credited. But my credit statement is giving me those wicked, sadist looks..Also, i just might not have to pay the phone bill this month. Last month,it was something like -1000 something..was even wishing they'd give me that money in cash, when i was begging around..)Sorry about that. She's just frustrated..

Okay, work beckons.. Catch y'all later..

Convocation and music..

Back again..

Dudes, listen to this. The convocation went REEALLY well. Had a great time at college, meeting up and spending time with friends i haven't seen in a while. And a huge crowd turned up from our batch. (or maybe it just seems huge coz i didn't expect so many to come.) anyways, i just loved the time i was there. Went all around the campus, old hangouts,classroom,labs.. The air around felt just the same.. Met a few teachers. (Of course, there was this sad murmuring inside, all the while.)

A few of us girls put up at my friend's quarters(meant for the faculty). A lot of howling and singing, hysterical laughter, crazy,CRAZY photo sessions in the convocation gowns. Sang and talked a lot into the night.

The ceremony was REALLY overwhelming. I don't know if all my batchmates will agree. But i loved it. There were tears in my eyes at some point. The speech by the chief guest was very relevant and inspiring. And wearing the gown n all gives you a nice important-sorta feeling.

Got the photo in the afternoon.Went to the hostel, all the ways we've walked and talked and cried.Started back the same evening...

The weekend before the convocation, i had a gala time with a friend on the guitar and us others singing. We had decided then that we should meet up more often and sing with the guitar and stuff. Though we didn't get a chance so far. I am also helping getting her the chords for the songs i like, and she gets me the songs she likes/knows to play..

Okay,okay.. i know it might sound like i'm making a lot of fuss over nothing.. BUT DUDES, it's been SO long since i could do any singing or for that matter any listening to music.

Another slab of good news :D got a pc with a sound card. borrowed headphones, and now my colleagues are having a tough time here. Either i'm whistling or singing aloud, or plain just -not-listening to them.

A verse for times of anxiety (love this verse):

Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matthew 6:34
